It all began with a lovemark. We all love google and use it in our very own life as a ultimate communication device, office planner, lifesaver, photo album creator and much more than this as a gate for knowledge. Now, here in Turkey there are approximately 10 million internet users and 95% of this, using Google as their main search engine.
In addition to that there is a respactable amount of Gmail users in Turkey right now which are willing to use other applications of Google if all of them will serve in Turkish.
So as I told in the beginning we,Turkish internet users, love and embrace Google all the way. And we know that Google making special logos on the special days. Such as 4th of july logo for Americans or St. Patricks day logo for Irish or St. Petersburgh logo for English or Snake Year logo for Chinesee or Mozart Day Logo to glorify legendary composer, I think you got the message.
The list goes like this. As a result, our beloving Google making special logos for countries special days, nations important artists or great men, historical events such as wars or milestones.
So dear Google, you’re making Australia New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) day logo for the martyr in Gallipoli for the Australians but you dont do the same gesture for us at the same day. In other words we are being jealous and demanding customized logos from Gooogle Turkey on our nations special days. Such as April 23rd Worlds only child holiday gifted by our glorious leader and father of modern Republic of Turkey M. Kemal Ataturk. For the one’s who dont know we celebrate this special day with the kids from all around the world. This day is not for only Turkish citizens, its all for this world youngsters. To summarize the whole thing, we want special days Google logos just like other countries and we demand it from the Google Turkey office.
We are bunch of Google lovers whose passion is to see something from “us” on Google.com.tr. There are 70 million people in Turkey and we are the 17th biggest market of Google and improving our internet covarege all around the country. We just started a nationwide campaign and whole Turkey supporting us to make this dream project come true.
All nation supporting our own made logos and making their own Google logos for this project. We’ve got more than 130.000 hits and 150 links from other websites and blogs. Greetz from Brussels – Belgium
Sure it’s very interesting idea. If Google chance its logo on the other country’s important days such as noel and 4 July, we want Google Turkey to change its logo on our important days such as Cumhuriyet Bayramı and Zafer Bayramı.
We want our logos..
if we have the capacity of doing these kind of creativities; so why can’t we?
.)
may google do us logos (google bize logo yapsana?)

Turkey celebrates Children Fest
Monday, April 23, 2007
International Children Fest is being celebrated all around Turkey and in some other countries with various activities today.Every year TRT, Turkish National Radio and Television Institution, organizes international celebrations bringing together school children from Turkey and from other countries for April 23 National Sovereignty and Children Fest, a day dedicated to children of the world by the founder of the Turkish Republic Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. This year once again hundreds of children are coming together to celebrate their fest with shows and activities in Ankara.Inspired by TRT, schools and municipalities, too, are bringing together children from different countries in Turkey to celebrate the fest as a symbol of peace and inter-faith relations. In Istanbul Doğa and Enka schools’ students will receive guests from other countries, for the first time.
The teachers and the authorities of the schools think it will be very beneficial to the children, and also find it very meaningful to have such activities under the auspices of such a unique fest.Whereas a city in western Thrace, Lüleburgaz in Kırklareli district celebrates the international children fest for the 16th time this year with guests from Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia, Georgia, and Turkish Cyprus.Apart from children celebrating their special day with their foreign guests some children will also attempt to bring the same happiness to children from villages.30 students from Hüsrevpaşa Primary School in the eastern Anatolian city of Van started a social responsibility project with Society Volunteers Foundation (A foundation that aims at spreading awareness about social responsibilities among youth) to enable students from village schools to become familiar with theatre and cinema as they generally lack the facilities for cultural activities.April 23 is as well celebrated in two different districts of Berlin, Germany. The civil society institutions of Berlin and Brandenburg states have been celebrating the children fest since 1970 and Turkish, German and citizens of other countries also join in the celebrations.Executives at the famous search web site Google stated that a specially designed logo would be used on April 23, instead of its usual logo. The logo is named “Doodle.”

Doodle: Children’s Day in Turkey
Google Turkey today celebrates the “National Sovereignty and Children’s Day“.
The date commemorates the opening of Turkish National Assembly in 1920 during the Turkish Independence War. The designation of Children’s Day came in 1929 upon the recommendation of the Institution of Children’s Protection. Since 1986 the Turkish government organizes an international children’s festival on April 23. [Wikipedia]
